As part of a working visit, a delegation of Latvian food and agricultural businesses, the Ministry of Agriculture and its subordinate institutions, including representatives of the State Plant Protection Service, is in Kazakhstan this week to strengthen dialogue on cooperation in agriculture and food. The delegation is headed by Jānis Irbe, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Climate and Energy.
On 25 May, representatives of the State Plant Protection Service and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan met to discuss issues related to plant quarantine. During the meeting, the State Plant Protection Service signed a memorandum of understanding with State Inspection Committee in the Agroindustrial complex of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The purpose of the memorandum is to strengthen cooperation in the field of phytosanitary quarantine, promote the exchange of experience, and improve the exchange of information on issuing phytosanitary certificates.
